Dr. Albers-Lopez received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Augustana College in 2020 and earned her DVM from the University of Illinois in 2024.

What are three things people would be surprised to know about you?
1) I collect keychains and vintage Disney vinyl albums, 2) I am a second-generation Cuban on my father’s side and a second-generation German on my mother’s side, and 3) I’m scuba dive certified.

If you could give one piece of advice to pet owners, what would it be?
Research your breed before adopting. All animals aren’t the same and it’s important to know how a pet will fit into your lifestyle before you give them a forever home.

I have a Shih Tzu named Pilar that I found at a gas station, a Pitbull mix named Goose that was severely burned on the left side of her body, and a red-eared slider turtle named Hanauma.
