At Midwest Animal Hospital, we believe our cat and dog boarding and daycare guests deserve to enjoy their time with us as much as possible. Boarding for Dogs and Cats

When your pet boards with us, we will do all that we can to make them feel welcome. Dogs can enjoy private play time with our staff members, or engage in supervised group play with other dogs.

Accommodations your pet can expect at our boarding facility include:

Each pet will receive a complimentary check over before leaving. You can also choose to add a boarding bath on the day of pickup, with the price based by your pet’s weight.

During major holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years) there is a $10 additional charge for the day before, day of and day after the major holiday.

Important Note About Pre-Packaged Pet Food

To ensure your pet is properly fed during their stay with us, please place any food brought from home into pre-packaged bags per feeding. Canned or wet foods may stay in their original packaging.

Please provide pre-packaged meals to ensure consistent nutrition. For your convenience, we continue to offer our house diet at a rate of $5 per day. Also, if your pet’s prescription diet is carried at our hospital, you are welcome to purchase a bag to be used during your pet’s boarding stay that can then be sent home with you.

Dog Daycare

If you feel guilty about leaving your pet at home all day while you’re at work or running errands, why not enroll them in our daycare? Our 5,000-square foot facility includes large indoor and outdoor play areas and an inground pool.

Daycare guests are always supervised and attended by trained staff members, who will be more than happy to shower your pet with affection and help them burn off energy. Dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed/neutered. Daycare reservations are required as we do book up fast.

Boarding and Daycare Requirements

New clients and new patients are required to have an in-person exam by one of our veterinarians and provide medical records at least 48 hours prior to drop off. For existing patients, we recommend vaccines be updated at least 2 weeks prior to any boarding, grooming or daycare for best protection.

  • Both Dogs and Cats must have had an annual exam in the last 12 months by one of our veterinarians.

You need to have proof of vaccinations prior to dropping off your pet for boarding or daycare. If they are not up-to-date on all of their vaccinations, we can vaccinate at drop-off time. The required vaccinations include:

What services are offered for pet boarding and daycare?

We provide dog boarding services with tiered packages (Gold, Platinum, and Suites), along with daycare options that feature supervised group play in our expansive 5,000 sq ft indoor/outdoor play area and indoor pool. Additionally, we offer boarding for cats and exotic pets.

What are the vaccination requirements?

Dogs: Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), Bordetella (every 6 months), Influenza, negative fecal (within 12 months).
Cats: Rabies, Distemper (FVRCP), Bordetella (every 6 months), negative fecal (within 12 months).
New clients require an exam by our vets and medical records submitted 48 hours in advance.

Can I tour the facility before booking?

We do not provide tours. However, we invite you to explore our facility through the information available on this page.

Will my dog have 24-hour access to water?

Yes, fresh, clean water is provided at all times in each suite or kennel and refreshed regularly throughout the day.

How are pets housed during boarding?

Each pet has their own clean, climate-controlled suite or kennel. Cats are boarded in a separate, quiet wing. Bedding and dishes are changed daily.

Is playtime included during boarding?

Yes, depending on the chosen package, dogs can enjoy supervised group play sessions. Additionally, our trained kennel staff ensures that every pet is taken outside for walks multiple times throughout the day.

What happens when it rains?

No need to fret—your dog will have a great time during playtime, especially with a scheduled session! We provide a spacious indoor play area that keeps them active and social, regardless of the weather. Additionally, we have covered outdoor areas for regular potty breaks throughout their stay!

What are your staff qualifications?

Every staff member is trained in animal care and supervision. We treat each guest as if they were our own, prioritizing their health, safety, and comfort.

Do you administer medications?

Certainly! We are pleased to manage medications, including oral, topical, and routine injections. Please ensure that they are brought in their original packaging along with clear instructions.

Do you provide food?

We have a veterinarian available on-site seven days a week. Our kennel staff is present daily from 5 AM to 9 PM.

What are your drop-off and pick-up policies?

Boarding fees are applied on a nightly basis. During major holidays, including the day before and after, an extra fee of $10 will be charged. You are welcome to drop off and pick up your pet anytime during our operating hours. Click here to view our schedule.
