Meet the Team


  • John Coyne, DVM
    Partner

    Dr. John Coyne has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 40 years. He was raised on a farm in Central IL and graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 1974. He is a big fan of University of Illinois athletics, and enjoys all Chicago sports. He and his wife Ruth have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.

  • Sarah Webb, DVM
    Partner

    Dr. Sarah Webb grew up in a small town in southeastern Iowa. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in biology and received her DVM from Iowa State University in 2006. Outside of work, Dr. Webb enjoys spending time with her family and their pets, a border collie named Caesar and Tryla the terrier mix.

  • Melissa Newberg, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Melissa Newberg grew up on a farm in northwestern Iowa. She attended Briar Cliff University where she majored in biology and then later received her DVM from Iowa State University in 1997. In her free time she enjoys gardening, biking and spending time with her family and pets.

  • Jared Settle, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Jared Settle grew up in Mount Vernon, IL. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veternary Medicine in 2007. His special interests include surgery and orthopedics. Dr. Settle enjoys watching the St. Louis Cardinals, hunting, fishing and spending time with his pet turtle Moldy.

  • Lisa Lukas, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Lisa Lukas grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago. She earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Illinois and then received her DVM in 2009. Her special interests include animal behavior, dentistry and internal medicine. Dr. Lukas enjoys hiking, horseback riding and agility training her dog.

  • Gwen Pawlowski, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Gwen Pawlowski is originally from Michigan. She received a degree in zoology from Michigan State University and later returned to MSU to complete her DVM in 2007. Dr. Pawlowski then finished a small animal internship in the Chicago area. She enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her family, friends and pets.

  • Kathryne Hall, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Kathryne Hall is from LaSalle Illinois. She graduated from Illinois with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry then earned her DVM in 2014. She is interested in soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and reproductive medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, and spending time with her miniature schnauzers and cats.

  • Sara Schultz, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Sara Schultz graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007 and started working in Bloomington, IL. Dr. Schultz also works at our Frankfort Location, Frankfort Animal Clinic. When not working, Dr. Schultz enjoys spending time with her family outside, playing with trains inside, making up stories, and reading.

  • Elizabeth Jung, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Elizabeth Jung was born in South Korea and grew up in Vancouver, Canada. In 2011 she received her DVM from Jeju National University in South Korea. After working as clinician for three years, she went back to canada and studied at Ontario Veterinary College. In her spare time, she likes outdoor activities and spending time with her cat, Baby Shu.

  • Ashley Sawa, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Ashley Sawa grew up in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. She received her degree in biology from Illinois State University and then received her DVM from University of Illinois in 2016. Her interests include internal medicine and oncology. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, friends, and golden retriever puppy, Delilah!

  • Marci Eldrenkamp, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Marci Eldrenkamp grew up in Oak Forest, IL. She received her B.S. in Biology from Illinois State University and then received her DVM from University of Illinois in 2017. Her interests include exotic animal medicine and preventative medicine. Outside of work, Dr. Eldrenkamp loves fishing, baking, and spending time with family and caring for her French Bulldog “Darla”, Cane Corso “Luca”, and Beagle mix “Louie”.

  • Haley Smothers, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Haley Smothers grew up in Southern Illinois. She attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale for her undergraduate degree in Animal Science, before attending the University of Illinois for her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include surgery and ophthalmology. Outside of work, she enjoys running, traveling, and spending time with her three loveable rescues, a Labrador mix named Lily, and her two cats, Toulouse and Luna.

  • Kailash Banasure, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Banasure (Dr. Bana) grew up in India. He graduated from Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur, India in 1997. Dr. Bana also has a Master’s degree in Animal Biotechnology from India and a second Master’s degree in Microbiology from University of Guelph (Canada). After pursuing a career in research for some time, he decided to come back to clinical medicine and has been practicing small animal medicine since 2010. His special interests include soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and dentistry. Dr. Bana has 3 feline pets at home (Kitkur, Timbit, and Orca). In his free time, Dr. Bana enjoys swimming, watching movies, and exploring new places.

  • Tara Harasim, DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Tara Harasim grew up in southeast Michigan. She completed her undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and then received her DVM in 2016 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, which included a year of clinical training at Colorado State University. She also completed further clinical training at a specialty practice in California before relocating to Illinois. Her special interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and internal medicine. In her spare time she enjoys tennis, drawing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
